7 Day Diet: Review

Well my weekend plans got in the way of finishing my diet totally.  It's hard when you are limited to food choices.  But overall, not a bad diet.  I didn't even get to weigh after Friday morning, so not sure what my total loss was, but as of Friday I had lost 5 pounds.

I have 12 days until the wedding, yes 12.  For the remainder, I'm going to try to eat as clean as possible and get extra workouts in.  The workouts might be tough since I'm so busy with last minute wedding meetings and DIY projects.  But I'm going to try my hardest.

7 Day Diet: Day 4

All I was supposed to have was bananas and skim milk.  Yep that's it.  Not the easiest day.

Breakfast: 2 bananas, 1 glass skim milk
Snack: 1 banana, 1 glass milk
Lunch: 1 glass milk
Snack: Cheetos, yep had some cheetos.....
Dinner: 1/2 grilled chicken salad and 1/2 chicken tortilla soup from McCalisters

So I didn't stick with the just bananas and milk, but I made healthy choices besides the cheetos.

Weight on Friday May 17th:
173.6

I'm thinking the gain was from the sodium from the soup.  The next three days is supposed to be chicken, turkey and veggies.  So I'm going to do my best to stick with that.  I am in a wedding this weekend though, so I'm not sure how well I'll stick to it, but I'll try my hardest.

7 Day Diet: Day 3

Day three was a little better than day 2, only because I was allowed fruit.  I could seriously not do a lifestyle without fruit! So I was to only eat fruits and veggies.....well I strayed off that just a little but, but mostly still healthy things.

Breakfast: About 3 cups of cantelope
Snack: Apple
Lunch: 1/2 can of Soup in a Cup Vegetable Beef, leftover green beans, and 2 cups watermelon
Snack: Strawberries, Diet Coke (by this point I was so cranky I had to do something)
Dinner: So by dinner I was still super cranky and decided I needed some protein in my life.  So my amazing Fiance took me out to dinner.  I picked Cheddars because I was really craving their tilapia.  So I had a house salad (consisting of just lettuce and carrots, both on the day diet) with just a little Ranch dressing (not even 1/2 tablespoon).  And I gave my honey buttered roll to Ricky (Yay go me!! Those are super hard to resist).  I ordered the Mango Tilapia (which I scarfed down in about 2 minutes) and had steamed broccoli (no oil or butter).  I did however eat the rice that came with the tilapia, I was just so hungry.

So all in all I had a diet coke, tilapia, a little ranch dressing and rice that I wasn't supposed to have today.

7 Day Diet: Day 2

Day 2 was MUCH harder that I thought it was going to be.  You are to eat ALL veggies and get a baked potato at dinner.  I like vegetables, I really do.  But yesterday they just weren't doing it for me.

Breakfast: cucumber slices (these didn't taste good at all, and especially for breakfast)
Snack: baby carrots (I was starving by this point so I ate almost a whole bag)
Lunch: I had made a huge salad with cucumber, broccoli, and carrots in it and brought Lite Balsamic to put on it but it didn't sound good, so I ended up going to Panera and getting a bowl of Tomato soup.  Probably not the best thing, with the sodium, but it was delicious and filled me up.  While I was in there though I really wanted a giant grilled chicken salad or one of those amazing sandwiches and don't get me started on the cookies.
Snack: By about 2:30 I was hungry (and a little cranky) again so I finished off the bag of carrots but that wasn't cutting it, so I looked in our fridge at work and realized I had some cheese slices in there.  So I cheated and ate three slices.  This helped my hunger and moody-ness.
Dinner: By the time I got home from bootcamp I was starving again, so I fixed the huge baked potato and put a little butter and sour cream on it.  And sauteed some zucchini and baked some green beans.  I actually couldn't even finish my whole plate.  I guess my stomach has shrunk a little bit.

Water: I ordered this amazing new water bottle off Amazon.  And filled it up 5 times yesterday! So I drank about 100 oz. of water!!! I have been mixing Crystal Light packets with it to give it a little flavor.  Plus all the water yesterday was helping with the hunger.

Friend Shower

Some of my parent's friends threw Ricky and I a shower.  It was so fun to be able to see some friends that I haven't seen in too long!  Sadly I don't have too many pictures of this shower but I'll share what I have!

The amazing food, including the lemon cake!

7 Day Diet: Day 1

Well I successfully made it through day one.  I could only eat fruit all day long.  Which was really great to me because I LOVE fruit.  During the day I got about 64 oz of water in (I wanted more but it's hard for me to drink water sometimes).  For breakfast I had a grapefruit, then about 9:30 I got hungry again so I had a bowl of cantelope.  For lunch I ate a HUGE bowl of watermelon, I bet there was about 3-4 cups of it cubed in that bowl.  Then about 3:00 I had 1/2 carton of strawberries and a apple about 4:00.  After work I went to bootcamp and still had lots of energy.  For dinner I made myself a smoothie.  I had a bag of frozen strawberries and mixed about half of that with about a cup of watermelon.  Just added a little water and ice and blended.  I thought it was totally delicious! (Ricky thought it was disgusting) I only got hungry a couple times during the day, and when I did I just ate some fruit.

So how did the scale look this morning? Lost 4 pounds! Now don't freak out, I know at least 2 of those pounds had to be water retention from my horrible eating weekend.

Weight on Tuesday May 15th:

Today is all veggies, which will be pretty tough for me.  I do like veggies, but it's a come and go thing.  Hopefully today is a good day.  Come back tomorrow to find out!

7 Day Diet

Well I have done it, I have waited until the last minute to get these last few pounds off before the wedding so my dress will fit better.  3 weeks ago when I picked up my dress it was pretty tight and I didn't really like the way it looked on me, so I was going to lose 5-10 pounds so I looked better.  Well then my sister's passing happened, and wedding showers and Bachelorette parties.  So I've been going in the opposite direction.  I'm really mad at myself for doing this.  I'm not a huge fan of quick fixes, only because I can't maintain that weight.  But I have no options left.  So I found this "cleanse" on Pinterest.  I thought it sounded like the healthiest cleanse/quick fix diet I could find, so I'm trying it.  Here is the image I found:
The image on Pinterest took me to THIS LINK where I found out more information about it.  So I'm giving it a go.  Some of the things sound really strange, I realize.  Like a day of just bananas and milk??? But if it will truly help me lose some of these pounds so I feel beautiful on my wedding day, I'll do it.

No worries, once the wedding is over I am going straight back to my calorie counting of healthy, clean foods with a mix of fruits, veggies, protein, and dairy each day.

So here we go:

Sorority Sister Shower

Over the last few weeks I have been blessed to have had several Bridal showers thrown for Ricky and I.  Our first shower was hosted by my amazing sorority sisters at Betty's house in Guthrie.  It's always so fun to all get together and reminisce about old times.
Enjoying some delicious food!

I don't remember what was so funny, but this is such a cute picture of me and my mom.

In memory of Rhonda Jo Manning

On April 27th, 2012 my beautiful sister, Rhonda Jo Manning, left this world to be with our Savior.

I think I am still in shock.  I feel like it's not real.  Like she's just gone on a trip and will be back soon.  I'm numb, I hurt, I'm sad, I don't understand.

My sister and I were 12 years apart.  And our personalities were as different as night and day.  But irregardless, she was my big sister and always will be.

Last week was probably the toughest week of my life, much worse than my worst day during the year long deployment.  I got the call Friday morning at work, Ricky was in Chicago, my amazing friend Kara came and stayed with me until I could figure out what to do.  My mother-in-law drove me to Edmond to be with my parents.  Over the course of the next few days I had to pick out flowers for her casket, pick out her clothes, pick up her bridesmaid dress she was supposed to wear in my wedding, and find photos for the slideshow. Why did I? So my mom wouldn't have to.  And they were all tough, especially picking up the dress.

Rhonda Jo, you are dearly missed by SO many people.  You have touched so many lives with your huge smile and constant happy nature.  I'm not handling it well knowing you won't be there to help me celebrate my marriage.  I know how excited you were to see your baby sister get married.  But I know you will be watching from up there and grinning that huge smile.  I love you big sister and miss you like crazy.
