It's a slow fade.....

Normally I don't post stuff this close together, but this song came onto my iPod this afternoon and it weighed heavy on my heart.

People never crumble in a day, it's a slow fade.....

The song says it all....

It's beginning to look a lot like.....FALL!!!!

Hello Fall!

As I have mentioned before, this is by far my favorite time of the year.  Really October is just my favorite month, you have amazing weather, football, Halloween, OSU Homecoming, and this year Dallas Cowboy game :)  And it's all only a week away! haha...ok really the month of October is only a week away.

This last week has been very eventful, I started packing and moving Friday the 17th....and FINALLY finished packing and moving yesterday.  All of my stuff is now either in my new apartment (which is a mess right now), at the church that will be going to our Caring Center, the trash, or in the back of my jeep that will be going home with my parents for a garage sale.  So slowly I'm making it through the boxes in the apartment, it's just going to take some time.

No OSU football game this weekend, but we have one this coming Thursday....why do they put games on Thursday....it's very difficult to make it worth-while.  But there were a lot of other really good games on TV that I watched this weekend while attempting to unpack.

Happy Fall everyone!

More treasures and memories

On to round 2 of finding wonderful treasures!  This time I really hit the jackpot, especially for sorority stuff.  Which I feel I have outgrown, but just can't part with yet.  I found my diamond board, family tree, letter box, stool, and large bucket....all in blue and white and ADPi all over it haha.  Takes me back to the days...... But the treasures I have to show you today are more sentimental than just silly.

<---- Anyways, first on the list of sentimental things I have found is my certificate of baptism.  I remember the day I was baptized at Kingfisher First Baptist Church in 1996....

It's tradition at Kingfisher FBC to give the seniors ---->
involved in youth choir to receive a Hymnal.  I found this in my nightstand.

<---I also found this journal that I kept during college....It was really funny to go back and read.  But sorry not spilling any of my top secrets on here :)

This picture was taken in 2003 when --->
we were on a mission trip in New Orleans.   We had been painting this house behind us, then managed to get into a paint fight and then it of course started raining, so we played in the rain.  Good times.

<---Another picture in New Orleans.  Yet another paint fight ha.  I remember that trip like it was yesterday.  We helped paint and repair this elderly womans house half of the time we were there.  She was the sweetest woman.  The other half of the trip we went around to places and sang (we were a youth choir). Then of course we did some sight-seeing to the French Quarter (where we got into a powdered sugar fight from the beignets.  Little bites of heaven as I call them :)

Today is the big move day.  But I'm sure I'll still be able to find many more treasures as I still have lots of packing to do haha.

O' the treasures you will find

This is by far the funnest post I've done to date.  So I am moving this week and have been going through things the last couple of weeks trying to consolidate all my stuff from a three bedroom house (that I've been sharing with my wonderful roommate Megan) into a one bedroom apartment....this has proven to be quite the task.  So I wanted to go through EVERYTHING since I haven't really done that since I moved to college 7 years ago.

So as I am going through all my belongings, trying to decide what goes to the apartment, what goes to the FBC Caring Center, what goes home to my mom for their garage sale, and what goes in the trash....I've found some pretty interesting things...So I thought I would share with you all.

<---- First off, we have this marvelous ADeePi bracelet that I found in my jewelry box.  I'm not quite sure when I received this, but I'm thinking maybe sophomore year?  I remember wearing this thing everywhere!

Next I found my pin box!!! I have been ----> looking for this thing everywhere!  I hadn't found it since I moved into this house 2 years ago.  I was sooo excited I found it.

<---The next thing I found was a box of cassette tapes of me singing in church when i was in middle and high school.  Too bad I don't even have a tape player to listen to them haha.

As I'm going through my "office" supplies  -->
I managed to find three mini staplers.  Who on earth needs three mini staplers!

<-----I also managed to find three name tags from my college days.  I kept the middle one (my sorority name tag) just in case I need it for some alumnae event.

And just to tell how long it's been since I went  ---->
through stuff....I found multi-colored floppy disks in my drawer.  Ha pretty sure I haven't used these in about 6 years.

<----- And last but not least, I had to take a pic of some of the crazy/funny things my roommate found in her jewelry box.  She has a necklace with little lambs on it, an ice cream cone that you can pin onto your shirt, just about every color imaginable of What Would Jesus Do bracelets (she says one to match every outfit), and some sort of necklace with what appears to be a Mexican woman on it.  These are just a FEW of the good items she found haha.

I'm only about halfway done packing so i'm sure I will be able to find some more awesome stuff to share with you all!

Cry Out To Jesus

I had the urge to listen to Third Day while working today.  I have always loved this song and typically get emotional every time I hear.  Well today was no exception.  But due to all that has been going on, I wanted to write about it.  There are so many people out there hurting, and this song is just an excellent reminder that Christ is always there with you no matter what you are struggling with.  The song talks about when you lose someone you love, people with burdens and pains, those struggling in their marriage, people who can't break their addictions, those that are lonely, those that are widowed, and children without a home.  It just breaks your heart when you hear this song. But also gives you hope to realize that He is always with you, no matter what you are going through.

There is HOPE for the helpless,
REST for the weary,
LOVE for the broken heart,
There is GRACE and FORGIVENESS,
MERCY and HEALING,
He'll meet you wherever you are,
Cry out to Jesus, Cry out to Jesus!!!

This last week has been extremely difficult.  Some marriage problems with my sister and brother-in-law have arose and my 8 year old nephew, Jake, is in the middle of it.  This is one of the reasons I had him all weekend, see the post below about all the fun we had.  But my heart just goes out to that poor little boy that has no control over what's going on.  I sincerely appreciate all of you that have been praying even when you didn't know what you were praying for.  Please continue to pray for strength, guidance, patience, and peace for my family.  Thank you all SO much!

It's Football Season!!

My favorite time of the year has finally arrived!  Fall!!!!  With it comes football, leaves changing colors, Halloween, cooler weather, and just pure happiness!  Fall is by far my favorite time of the year (If you couldn't tell by all the exclamation points haha).

Saturday was the first OSU college football game and it did NOT disappoint.  The weather was amazing!  And our first tailgate was a success.  About 10 people showed up and helped contribute to make our typical tailgating menu a success.  We of course make hamburgers with chips, pasta salad, potato salad, veggies and dip, and dessert.  Sooo yummy!  We secured our spot right next to the stadium and right in the middle of all the orange!

Here is Hasley excited about Cowboy Football! --->

I also got to babysit my 8 year old nephew Jake all weekend and we had so much fun!  Friday night when we got back to Tulsa I took him to the park where he played on the playground until it got dark.  Saturday we watched lots of cartoons in the morning and then headed to Stillwater for the game and he had a great time.  We were able to see Mimi and Papa (my parents) also.  Yesterday I took him to church with me and then of course it was nap time (for me not him, he doesn't nap ha) Then we headed over to Ricky's parents to play in their pool and he LOVED it over there.  He thought it was an amusement park because they had a pool with a slide and a popcorn machine.  His mom came and got him this morning and I've been recuperating ever since ha.  It's crazy how busy a little 8 year old can keep you.

All in all, an excellent Labor Day weekend!  But it's back to work tomorrow :(  Only 5 days until the next football game though!

Happy Birthday Ricky!

Yesterday was Ricky's birthday, the big 2-6 :)  Being the amazing girlfriend that I am, I bought him tickets to see the Dallas Cowboys play at the new stadium.  But not just any game, a Monday night football game against the NY Giants.  He has known about the tickets for awhile, mainly because I couldn't just buy him tickets for any random day hoping he would be free.  So we picked the best day and it just happened to be a Monday night game :)  I'm so excited to go!  We're going down Sunday morning and staying until Tuesday.  While we're there we are wanting to take a tour of the new stadium.

So since he already knew what his present was, I still wanted to surprise him with something so I sent him these decorated cookies to his office.  Here is what they generally looked like ----->

Of course I had to stick with the Dallas Cowboy theme :)  He loved them and I'm glad I could surprise him with something.

So to celebrate his birthday we went to Shoguns last night with his family.  It was a lot of fun and the food was fantastic!  Here are just some images of the night :)
That's Ricky's little sister feeding him something, could be fried rice or chicken or salad.  But she's sooo adorable!  So all in all it was an excellent birthday for him....I think so anyways :)
